On the very first Earth Day, April 22, 1970, 20 million people gathered in the streets of America to protest the industrial revolution. An environmental movement was born as a result.
Every year on April 22 men, women, and children collect garbage, plant trees and plan for a better future for our planet.
By printing with PLA, a renewable, biodegradable material made from plants, we do our part to help the environment every day.
At AMX3d, we wanted to do more...
In order to celebrate Earth Day, AMX3d has ordered t-shirts for all its employees from a company called Polar Ambassadors, Inc. Polar Ambassadors was launched with the goal of assisting in the effort to save the polar bears, and to spread awareness of their plight - a plight which is largely due to global warming. There are only 20,000 to 25,000 polar bears left in the wild - a smaller population than most US suburbs/towns. Without intervention, scientists estimate that two-thirds of these will be gone by 2050. Polar Ambassadors donates 10% of all profits to organizations which help to save the polar bear. In addition, the shirts themselves help start the conversation about conservation. By sporting the t-shirt, a person becomes a ‘Polar Ambassador’, helping to save these great animals.
